Quality Controlled Manufacturing Inc., a San Diego-based precision machining manufacturer, announced today the hiring of its 100th employee.
Santee, Calif. June 25, 2012 – Precision manufacturer, Quality Controlled Manufacturing Inc. (QCMI) is pleased to announce the hiring of its 100th employee. QCMI’s milestone employee fills a 2nd shift CNC Lathe Machinist position.
QCMI employs a variety of best practices in actively recruiting employees. Two key workforce partners are the State of California Employment Development Department (EDD) and the East County Career Center. Human Resource Manager, Becky Quinn, utilizes the educational services, resources and job posting offerings of the agencies to attract and find qualified and skilled workers of varied cultural backgrounds.
In addition QCMI supports U.S. veterans by attending military job fairs at the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, the Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) Miramar and the 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego. QCMI also participates in regional San Diego job fairs and career events at local chambers and schools.
QCMI was founded on October 25, 1978 by William R. “Bob” Grande. The San Diego County precision manufacturer has grown to include a 65,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Santee, California — with nearly a million hours of machining capacity. In addition QCMI has a 27,000 square foot storage facility in Lakeside, California and a 6,000 sq. ft. research and development center in El Cajon, California.
QCMI has received the coveted United Technologies Corp. (UTC) Supplier Gold award for three consecutive years (2009-2011). And, in addition Bob Grande was honored by the San Diego Business Journal as a 2011 Most Admired CEO. In February 2012, Grande received the Santee Chamber of Commerce’s Business Leadership Award.
