QCMI Recognized for Their Support of Military Transition REBOOT Workshop Program

SAN DIEGO, CA February 7, 2011 — Complex machining company Quality Controlled Manufacturing Inc. (QCMI) was recognized for their support of the REBOOT Workshop a newly designed military-to-civilian transition program developed by the National Veterans Transition Services Inc. (NVTSI) at the January 28 graduation celebration. The reintegration workshops assist returning service members and veterans in making the social and career transition from years of service by REBOOTing their culture and skills. The service members’ graduation was open to the public and held at the San Diego Foundation building located in Liberty Station. Rick Urban, QCMI COO presented NVTSI co-founders Retired Rear Admiral Ronne Froman and Retired Master Chief Maurice Wilson, NVTSI with an initial $10,000 contribution check.

The afternoon’s keynote speaker was Retired Navy Captain, Jack Ensch, former Commanding Officer of NTC. Graduates receiving REBOOT certificates were Daniel Allenby, Eric Smith, Isaias Valenvuela, Mark Paproski and Zachariah Philips. In his address Captain Ensch shared the facts that many recently returning service members have a difficult time re-entering and adjusting to the culture of everyday civilian life. Veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan who have been exposed to battlefield operations and multiple tours of duty may be especially at risk. Statistics show high unemployment, homelessness, suicide, drug and/or alcohol abuse and other reintegration problems experienced by returning service members.

“Our company is committed to honoring America’s heroes not only with financial contributions, but also through creating jobs and hiring REBOOT graduates,” stated Rick Urban, QCMI COO.

“The transition workshops restore hope, while getting a job builds self-esteem and is life transforming.”
“QCMI is a leader in helping us get our message out to the business community. Their job openings are featured in our local veterans’ job board,” said Maurice Wilson, President and Executive Director NVTSI. “We plan to push it out to every veteran in the region seeking employment — connecting them with companies seeking to hire them.”
